Quick Update RE: Surgery

Just an update: Tyson's surgery has been post-poned to next week, tenatively scheduled for Tuesday. Thank you for all your prayers!

No visitors please

Ashley and Lincoln are being released today and will move into the cardiac wing to stay with Tyson. Ashley just called me and asked me to ask that no visitors come by the hospital. Tyson's doctors do not want anyone but Ashley and Rob around Tyson be fore his surgery to make sure he does not get any infections. Since Lincoln will be in the room with them too, Tyson's doctors want to strictly limit his visitors as well so he does not pass anything to his brother. *** Also, please do not send anything to the hospital with latex *** Ashley and Rob say thanks for the well wishes and they will let people know when it is okay to start having visitors, most likely when they are all released to go home. Thanks for your understanding. Please say a prayer for Tyson's surgery on Thursday!

Pictures!

Hello everyone- Here are just a few pictures of Lincoln and Tyson. (There are more of Lincoln just because Tyson was in the NICU right away and only Rob and Ashley took a lot of pictures there and I have not been able to get the pics from them yet. I will try and get more soon!) The boys actually look a lot a like considering the fact that they are fraternal twins. They are both so cute and are doing well. Tyson will be having his surgery on Thursday, so please say lots of prayers! The nurses and doctors are taking such good care of him- the nurses even got him several little stuffed animals! Enjoy the pictures of these super cute boys!! Lincoln shortly after birth: Lincoln on Sunday night: Tyson on Saturday night: Rob and Lincoln Saturday night:

THEY ARE HERE!!!

Ashley had a c section and Lincoln was born at 5:29pm weighing 5 pounds 15.9 ounces and 19 inches long. Tyson was born at 5:31pm weighing 5 pounds 5 ounces and 18.5 inches long! Ashley is in recovery with Rob and Lincoln and Tyson is being taken care of in the NICU. Nancy took a picture of Lincoln on her cell phone so text her or Haley if you want to see the first picture! HOORAY BABIES!!!

Update...#5

Ashley is going to have a c section in about an hour!! (Around 4:30pm AZ time) She and Rob have asked that people do not come and visit at the hospital. They are in the high risk area and already had to sign in people who are allowed to be there. They will let everyone know when they can see them and the babies! YEAH BABIES!!!!!!!!

Update...#4

Ashley has asked her doctors if she can have a c section...things are moving very slowly. Will let you know when I hear more!

Update...#3

Ashley texted me at 3am saying she had just received an epidural and was feeling much better. She was going to try and get some rest and was still only 1cm. The docs said they were going to give her pitocin this morning if there was no change.

Update...

Hello all- Ashley is checked in and is 1 cm dilated as of 8pm...

Baby Time???!!!!

Image
Hello all- This is Sarah, best friend of the mommy to be! So why am I blogging, you ask? Well...because Ashley is on her way to the hospital!!! Here is the most hilarious story...I called Ashley at 4:18pm just to say hello. Since she is on bed rest and I am home all day, I try to check in with her so she is not alone and bored all day. We chatted about tv shows, how kids can be grumpy, if I needed to buy her any XXL clothes (I was trying to be funny)...you know normal friend stuff... then all of the sudden, Ashley says "Holy S@*T!! I think my water is breaking!!!". Me trying to be the calm voice, I say, "maybe you're just peeing yourself! Check the color!" I will save you all some of the details we spoke of next...but then when it kept on coming Ashley was sure it was her water breaking. So I made her get off the phone with me and call her doctor, Rob and parents and now she is on her way to the hospital! I will post when I know more details and will also update...

When will them come?!

Well no hospital stay this time!! I guess it's not time for these boys to come, but when will they come?? We thought it would be fun to take a poll to see when everyone thinks they will finally arrive...we put the poll to Sept 1 because we don't think we'll make it past that...So vote away!! Oh and cross your fingers that it will happen soon because we are so ready!!!

Down to the end...

With not too much longer to go, I am definitely ready to have these boys!! It's been a some times frustrating and amazing, but I am so ready to not be pregnant anymore!! I used to be nice and skinny and now holey moley I am quite large!! I have topped the charts on weight gain!! I knew it was going to be a lot but I just can not fathem the amount of weight I've gained...I've gained almost 70lbs and yeah I weigh more than my husband now---ouch! When I found that out I almost fainted and Rob just laughed and of course let out a few jokes...no worries he's not being mean it totally made me laugh and feel a little better!! But still, it's so not attractive and I can not wait until I can fit in my normal clothes again :o) Since we found out we were having twins, we have been trying to decide if we can make it on one income and have me stay home with the kids...well that decision has been made for me as of yesterday (for now at least). My bank was shut down on Friday...

Another hospital visit

After 4 days in the hospital, I have finally been released and sent home. On Thursday during a regular check up, I was being monitored and started having strong and more frequent contractions. This time they actually hurt and I was quite uncomfortable. They immediately sent me over to OB Triage to be assessed. During such time we were notifed that my cervix was thinning and I was about a finger-tip dilated which was more than I should be at this time. They decided to start me on Magnesium to stop the "labor"--- note to all pregnant woman, you do not want to be put on Magnesium, it was absolutely awful!! I have never felt so crappy in my entire life! There are so many side effects and I had them all, nasuea, blurred vision, sore muscles, not able to stand up on your own and headaches--you name it I had it! Finally on Saturday my doctor decided to remove me from the Magnesium and continue my other medication more frequently because my contractions were not progressing in ...

32 Weeks & Counting

Image
Well we have made it past one hurdle...we made it to 32 weeks! Still have at least 3-4 weeks to go but after the weekend we had 2 weeks ago, we are very happy to be at 32 weeks!!! Tyson's surgeon said that he even though he would rather not, he could do his surgery between 32-34 weeks just not any earlier---although we're aiming to make it to 35-36 weeks! So what does 32 weeks look like for the babies? Here's what they look like and what my e-mails say along with my responses in the middle: By the end of the 32nd week, each baby will weigh approximately four pounds. According to our dr's they were almost 4 lbs 2 weeks ago and both are head down. Actually, twins are tracking along the same rate as singletons at this point of the pregnancy. You should be familiar with their patterns of movement, although it is not as strong. Definitely have their patterns or routines of movement down, but they are still strong! These boys are not taking it easy! It is difficult to deter...
