4 Month Check-up & Tyson's Heart

Well we had our 4 month check up on 12/28 and they boys are doing just great by Dr. Ciminello's standards! Lincoln weighed almost 14lbs and Tyson weighed almost 12lbs! And they were only a couple inches different in length. I can't believe that with all the time Tyson lost with eating, moving etc. how close they are in size!! What I do know, is that it makes me so happy :o) He was impressed with Tyson's weight gain and doesn't have any concerns about his development! So no speech/physical therapy is needed. Thank God ! Unfortunately the only concern he did have was his heart, when Tyson was born they had to perform the Septostomy which made the hole that was between the upper chambers (this is normal, we all have one then it closes after you are born) bigger and permanent. During his surgery the Surgeon had to close this hole, as it would not close on it's own because he broke the "flap" so to speak that would normally close on it's own. When his Pedia...

Our Christmas!

Image
It was the boy's 1st Christmas and it was just wonderful! All 3 kids made out like bandits!! I couldn't believe the amount of toys they all received. We thank all of you who contributed to their gifts!! On Christmas Eve we went to my Aunt and Uncle's house to visit. It started out nice and quiet and then as soon as it was the boys bed time they both became so cranky and wanted nothing but their beds! Between our boys and Baby Preston screaming, I'm pretty sure my Aunt is going to make next year an " Adult Only Christmas Eve " :o) Christmas Day was just wonderful, even though the boys had no idea of what was going on it was still so much fun to watch all of them. Kaila woke up early, around 6/6:30am, ran down stairs and then immediately back up to our room yelling "Come on Mommy, Come on Mommy, Santa came Santa came!" She was so excited to open presents because she had asked for a skateboard and was pretty sure it was under the tree! Lincoln was alrea...

Santa!!

Image
I took the kids to see Santa last week and it was quite the experience!! Kaila loved it, Lincoln was not so sure and Tyson did not like him one bit! Can't wait to see how they are next year!

Happy Birthday Rob!

Image
Even though Rob had to work yesterday, we still managed to make it special for him! When he got home from work, we sang "Happy Birthday" and had this wonderful cake that Kaila and I decorated (Kaila did most of the decorating!) He then opened his presents... His parents sent him 2 pizzas from his favorite pizza joint in Nebraska, "La Casa"! Rob swears that its the best pizza ever!! I do have to say it is pretty good! It was a very special delivery so I had to make sure someone was home yesterday so that we could get it in the freezer after it arrived...never thought I would be getting pizza in the mail!! Ha Ha Ha My parents got him a gift card so that he could go shopping for clothes for himself! Which is fantastic because he deserves to get new clothes for a change :o) Kaila got him a tool box for all his tools that he has along with all his favorite candy and soda, Coke! We also got him a new long sleeve shirt from the Buckle that he requested! My parents came...

So Thankful

Image
It's 9:30pm on Thanksgiving, I'm sitting in my living room drinking a glass of wine, the kids are all in bed, husband is sleeping and I can't help think of all the things that I am just so thankful for! Here's what I'm thankful for! Most serious, but some silly..although those silly ones do make a difference :o) Of course when people ask what are you thankful for, I think for many of us, we automatically say "our family & friends", well for us that is so true! If it wasn't for our family and friends, I don't know that we could have made it through the past 3 months. I hope all of you know just how much we love you and how you all hold a special place in our hearts! I am so thankful for my hubby ...even though there are times we are so stressed and have no patience he has always been there for me! He is the best thing that has ever happened to me and I don't know what I would do with out him! I love you babe with all my heart! My kids...Kai...

3 Months!

Image
Our boys are 3 months old! That is absolutely crazy! I can't believe how fast time has gone by and how big they are--- I remember when they were wearing preemie clothes and now they can't get into 3 month sizes fast enough! HAPPY 3 MONTH!

Home HERE WE COME!

After a very long week they are sending Tyson home! We are so excited!!! Thanks for all your prayers!!

Highs & Lows of Surgery

Image
Recovering after his surgery Thank you all for praying for Tyson, he is recovering great after a very long surgery Tuesday. Usually it takes a few days to close their chests back up after surgery, but his swelling was not too bad so, Dr. Nigro was able to close it on Wednesday, which is fantastic! He was doing really well with his breathing on the ventilator while trying to ween him off, that they decided to remove that Wednesday morning. After they removed it unfortnately, Tyson stopped breathing 5 different times within about 30-45 minutes after the ventilator was removed. The Nurses, Doctors and Respitory Therapists were still with him and were able to make him breathe again on his own after messing with and having to "bag" him. They believe that he still had the sedative medication in his blood stream and was not as awake enough. They gave him medication to reverse the effects of the sedative so that he would wake up which worked and he became stable. A few hours later ...

Surgery Update

Hello- this is Sarah. Tyson is out of surgery and it went really well. Ashley and Rob are with him now!

Surgery Update

Hello- This is Sarah. Ashley asked me to update everyone on Tyson's surgery. He went in for surgery at 8:30am and was put on bypass around 9:30am. As of 1pm, the doctors were warming up his body temperature. They should be getting him off bypass and closed up soon! I will let everyone know when he is out of surgery.

Time for Surgery!

Originally Tyson's surgery was to be on Monday, but do to some scheduling conflicts with the hospital, it has been re-scheduled for Tuesday, November 10th @ 7:30am. We will be taking him in tomorrow for some pre-op testing and if all goes well then we're a go for Tuesday!! Some of you have asked if we can have visitors and yes we can. We ask that you wait 72 hours from Tuesday because when he gets out of surgery his chest will be open and it can be for up to 72 hours and please leave your children at home---this way we can minimize the risk of infection. Also, please keep in mind that it's not just our son that is in there, there are so many sick kids that have worse heart conditions than Tyson does, so if you have been sick or your immediate family is/has been sick please refrain from coming. Otherwise, you are more than welcome to visit, just call us to make arrangements as were only allowed limited visitors at one time! We'll be at the same place, St. Joe's Hos...

Halloween!

Image
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and we had a blast with the kids! Rob & I were going to dress up with them, but we thought we were going to be in the hospital so we didn't get costumes! But, WATCH OUT because next year, the Majorek's will be rockin' it! ha ha ha :o) The boys were a hit with the trick-or-treaters...no matter hold the kids were they loved the "babies"---that's what all the kids called them when they'd come by! Whether they were at the door with us or all the way by the back door, they just got a kick out of them! Although one particular set of trick-or-treaters stood out more than the others...there were 3 boys, between the ages of 4-9 and I had Tyson in my hands and the oldest boy says to me "Does he have cancer?" & I told him "No, he doesn't have cancer his heart is broken and he has to have it fixed" and all 3 boys look at him and say "Oh, that's so sad"---It was by far the most preci...

2 Months Old!

Image
Happy 2 Month Birthday! (our 2 month photo shoot) First Tyson was screaming... Then Lincoln decided to show off... And then of course, they both decided to scream! Oh the fun we had... I can't believe our little guys are 2 months old...time sure does fly these days! They are definitely getting bigger and are more fun each day. Lincoln now weighs 9lbs 8oz and is 21.75 inches long & Tyson is 8lbs 1oz and is 20.25 inches long---they definitely like their food! If I don't get it fast enough, excuse my language, but all hell breaks loose in our house! They definitely let me know that they are hungry and that I need to feed them NOW! Lincoln got his 2 month shots, even though he screamed bloody murder while getting them, he calmed down pretty fast and hasn't had any side effects. Tyson won't be getting his shots until after he has surgery, because when you are on heart & lung bypass you have to redo any shots that were given recently so instead of putting him thr...
