4th of July Fun!

We ended up laying low for the majority of the day and then went to a friends house for a little bit and then had some family and friends over to celebrate "'Merica's Birthday" :o)  We went swimming and BBQ'd some great food!

 Tyson and his buddy, Kevin, had a corn eating contest...which started out innocent and fun...

Then the skewers came off...
 
And it was all business!! 
Tyson won, but later on said to Kevin that they both won...it was super sweet :o)
 
We then we went to see fireworks at a nearby Church and as usual, they did a great job!  We were lucky enough that when we got out of the car a family nearby let us hang out with them on their drive way and we had prime seating for the show!

 


Someone is a little like their Aunt Haley and is scared of the fireworks :(  He stayed behind me for the longest time and cried, then felt brave enough to sit on my lap. 


These two were little peas in a pod...it was super cute!
 
When we got back, we had dessert...My first Flag Cake!  So yummy!!
 
After dessert, we lit off some of our own fireworks...we lit M-5000's, most of which we threw in the pool and were hilarious to watch blow up in the water!  And then there was this one...the dud.  No matter how many times Rob & Kevin lit it on fire it would not blow.  Dangerous, but they wrapped a paper towel around it and lit it on fire and...still didn't blow! Ha!!

Weekend Shenanigans & Father's Day!

Our weekend craziness started a little early on Friday morning when someone got a little hair cut by another 5 year old in this house... The boys wanted to watch a show before swim lessons and when I called them down, I got no response so I ran up there and Tyson says, "Mom! I get a jelly bean because I let Lincoln cut my hair!!".  Um, no. I didn't get a picture of him, but this is his hair...a lot of his hair!  It was cut in so many chunks and some places right to the scalp, so he got his head shaved today...and, he's so darn cute!   The Majorek kids and Richardson kids finally got to hang out and so we took the kids to Chuck E Cheeses...not our ideal place to hang, but the kids had a great time!  This little dudes face was so darn cute on this ride :o) And best news of the weekend, this kids finally learned how to swim!!!!  We have no idea as to why all of a sudden he decided to do it, ...

Highs & Lows of Surgery

Recovering after his surgery Thank you all for praying for Tyson, he is recovering great after a very long surgery Tuesday. Usually it takes a few days to close their chests back up after surgery, but his swelling was not too bad so, Dr. Nigro was able to close it on Wednesday, which is fantastic! He was doing really well with his breathing on the ventilator while trying to ween him off, that they decided to remove that Wednesday morning. After they removed it unfortnately, Tyson stopped breathing 5 different times within about 30-45 minutes after the ventilator was removed. The Nurses, Doctors and Respitory Therapists were still with him and were able to make him breathe again on his own after messing with and having to "bag" him. They believe that he still had the sedative medication in his blood stream and was not as awake enough. They gave him medication to reverse the effects of the sedative so that he would wake up which worked and he became stable. A few hours later ...
