1st Bad Word

Tyson said his 1st bad word today, courtesy of yours truly...The best mama out there!  I normally am very careful about what I say in front of the boys, but today...not so much.  A little background...the boys got these stuffed animal Monkey's and for some reason the boys are beyond attached to them and we have spent way too many hours looking for them before bed time, when they wake up, breaking up fights and just dealing with taking the monkey everywhere... And today was no exception.  As we were getting out of the car, I told Tyson that he needed to leave the monkey.  He fought me and fought me and fought me until he won... of course .  I was on the phone with my bff, and as he was getting out of the car and out of frustration and irritation, I said "effing monkey" (and yes, I actually said the "f" word) and sure enough Tyson says "effing monkey" while making monkey dance.  At first I was mortified, but since then I have been able to bring ...

Crazy Night!0

What a day this has been!!  I was swamped all day at work and then when I get home the kids & hubby worked me to the bone!  Within 5-10 minutes of being home, I completely endured my crazy household and then the night just kept going... Rob was in and out of the house trying to put together the new swingset...which is ridiculously huge and we are only on step 17 or 18 out of 50...he kept double checking the "how to" video and then calling me out to help and then saying nevermind occaisionally!  Kaila had an attitude of crazy hormonal tweeness and didn't want to do anything for anyone and was not getting along with the boys.  Lincoln was running around with a mallat from the drum set pretending to hit Tyson who is screaming in fear that he's going to get wacked .  The boys began dumping out my purse and making a complete disaster.  I removed them from sitting on the stools and then Tyson throws ...

Softball & Swingset

What a weekend!!  It has been non-stop going! It started with coaching my first softball game...thanks to my lovely daughter for volunteering me to be get coach! I was nervous, so much that I forgot to put on my sunscreen and got fried--yay, me!  But I have to say that the game went really well, as more time went by I was more and more comfortable being the Coach...it also helps knowing you have a great Assistant Coach by my side :) I don't know what the final score was (yeah, we didn't have anyone keep score on our side...rookie move, I know!), but we did get multiple runs, they batted really well and the pitchers (who never pitched a game in their life!) did an amazing job!!!  And I have to point out that my girl got a huge hit at her last at bat---I was so excited that I nearly stopped paying attention to the rest of the game--Ha!! I am actually very excited for the next game! We also started a new project this weekend...a new swingset/clubhouse thing!...

Funny!!!

Rob and I are on our date night and this just goes to show how tired we are...well at least how tired I am... We're sitting at the table and I am getting ready to ask Rob if he is getting a salad and a waitress sets down a salad for each of us and I say "thanks" and get ready to eat it and then Rob says to me and the waitress, um...we haven't ordered yet, those aren't ours...haha!!!

Gardening Adventures...

Image
For a little while now, I have wanted to try out gardening...apparently the hubs was thinking about it too, because he was on board right away!  We used our side yard and built an above raised garden bed.  I was hands on during the entire process, but the hubs did the most of the beginning grunt work (raking the rocks away and leveling the ground) and then we both built it and then Kaila and I planted everything!  We had so much fun and I am so excited to see how it does! DAY 1 The before... The boys trying to help or as they said, "making pancakes"---haha! The sprinkler system works! I don't remember what this tool is called, but it is heavy and it packs the ground...it's what we used to help level everything... The boys goofing off...which is what the did the entire time! Kaila helping move the rock... It's kind of dark, but this is what it looked like at the end of Day 1... DAY 2 We still needed more soil and plan...

Lunch + Parrots?!

Image
Today we had lunch with my BFF, Sarah, and her family!  We haven't seen each other in way too long and we had a great time!!  We went to Joe's Farm Grill and it was delicions :o) While we were eating, this lady walks by us with 3 large parrots on her and then just puts them in a tree like it's no big deal...she was a little crazy as her response to Kaila as to why she brought her parrots there, was "to let them outside"... she might have been a little off her rocker, but her birds were pretty cool!

T-man's Surgery

Image
We started the day off super early---as in 2am early for myself (thank you Lincoln for waking me up an hour early!) and 3:45 for the hubs and T-man.  We were on the road by 4:15am and got there just before 5am...turns out the hospital doesn't open their doors until 5am and the admintance people don't get there until 5:30am...needless to say the boys were a tad bit grumpy knowing they could have slept in an extra 30 minutes :o) For being up so early Tyson actually became super happy and had loads of energy running around, laughing and smiling.  We had a few meltdowns but for the most part he was pretty happy.  We finally went back to the pre-op waiting area and then we were called back by a super nice pre-op nurse.  This part really starts to get me---I know this surgery was minor in comparison to what he has already gone through, but it's still scary.  Anything can happen and I am not in control and I am not very good with that. She g...
