Punishment

Normally Kaila is a great kid, but because she's hitting the hormonal pre-teens, we've had a few hiccups around here and some major attitude/talking back when things don't go her way. 

It's been kind of brutal and not much was working.  We were willing to give anything a shot so, with help from a friend we got this new idea.  It wasn't easy and absolutely not fun at all, but it does seem to be working!   We took every single toy that she loves out of her room and are making her earn them back with good behavior!


She's actually been more aware of how she acts and stops herself before she says something that will get her into trouble.  Now, it's obviously not going to be a cure, but we think it's a good lesson! 

And yes, those are books...we didn't take them away because she couldn't read (she still reads everyday for school), we took them away because she absolutely 100% loves to read!

Weekend Shenanigans & Father's Day!

Our weekend craziness started a little early on Friday morning when someone got a little hair cut by another 5 year old in this house... The boys wanted to watch a show before swim lessons and when I called them down, I got no response so I ran up there and Tyson says, "Mom! I get a jelly bean because I let Lincoln cut my hair!!".  Um, no. I didn't get a picture of him, but this is his hair...a lot of his hair!  It was cut in so many chunks and some places right to the scalp, so he got his head shaved today...and, he's so darn cute!   The Majorek kids and Richardson kids finally got to hang out and so we took the kids to Chuck E Cheeses...not our ideal place to hang, but the kids had a great time!  This little dudes face was so darn cute on this ride :o) And best news of the weekend, this kids finally learned how to swim!!!!  We have no idea as to why all of a sudden he decided to do it, ...

Highs & Lows of Surgery

Recovering after his surgery Thank you all for praying for Tyson, he is recovering great after a very long surgery Tuesday. Usually it takes a few days to close their chests back up after surgery, but his swelling was not too bad so, Dr. Nigro was able to close it on Wednesday, which is fantastic! He was doing really well with his breathing on the ventilator while trying to ween him off, that they decided to remove that Wednesday morning. After they removed it unfortnately, Tyson stopped breathing 5 different times within about 30-45 minutes after the ventilator was removed. The Nurses, Doctors and Respitory Therapists were still with him and were able to make him breathe again on his own after messing with and having to "bag" him. They believe that he still had the sedative medication in his blood stream and was not as awake enough. They gave him medication to reverse the effects of the sedative so that he would wake up which worked and he became stable. A few hours later ...
